iPhone 4 vs iPad 2.0
Is iPhone 4 a killer of the iPad? Let's analyze their differences.

The iPhone may be the most popular smartphone ever released by Apple. It may have some discoloration as well reception issues with the iPhone 4 but somehow it has able to manage its good standing in the smartphone industry. But just recently there were ongoing rumors that Apple is set to unveil the next generation iPhone which is apparently called the iPhone 5.

Summer 2011 is the date consumers could expect to see iPhone 5 hit shelves if Apple's current trend of releasing new versions continues.

There were approximately 16 million iPhone 4 units sold by July 16th, just 3 weeks after it's release date. However, despite such a tremendous release, iPhone 4 has been plagued with a number of issues. From poor signal to easily broken screens, many consumers plan to hold off on Apple phones until the release of iPhone 5.

iPhone 4 Death Grip

Before the iPhone 4 even came out, there were complaints about losing signal just from holding the phone the "wrong way";. This wrong way has come to be known as the death grip. The only ways to resolve this issue is to either change the way the phone is held or spend $25-30 for a bumper case, which is designed to improve signal. This has caused numerous complaints from customers, considering the fact that they already paid $199-$299 for the iPhone 4 to begin with.

Recently, Apple launched the iPhone 4 Case Program, which allows iPhone 4 users to recieve a bumper case at no cost. However this program is set to last only a short period of time, meaning some users will never recieve a case.

Retina Display Glass

Although made from "the same materials used in helicopters and high-speed trains," the iPhone 4's screen is still breakable. Now, with glass on both sides, there is simply twice as much to be potentially broken. iPhone 4 users rejoiced at the higher resolution screens (960x640 versus the previous 480x320) but the potential for more damage, thus more repair costs, is not a popular reality.

iPhone 5: Features the People Want

In order to produced similar sales to the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5 must keep the features which impressed the customers but still add a new dimension to it as well as fixing the problems of iPhone 4. Being able to come up with this balance will be a very interesting challenge, and comes at a crucial period due to the competition with other smartphone and with the rise of the Droid platform to contend with. Samsung and HTC use the Droid platform which is increasing in size and popularity

One feature of iPhone 5 that many customers would like to see is improved iPhone 5 signal. This is especially true for customers in big cities, where the most calls are dropped. This relatively simple improvement would eliminate the need for customers to spend even more on bumper cases.

Another popular idea has been the ability for use on other mobile carriers. As of now, the iPhone remains exclusive to AT&T. Allowing other carriers access to the iPhone would allow for millions of new customers, thus greatly boosting Apple sales.

As is the trend with the release of iPhones, battery life continuously improves. iPhone users expect an even longer battery life with the release of iPhone 5.

Finally, iPhone users want the next model to have Flash compatibility. As of the date in which this article was written, all iPhones and iTouches did not have the ability to view flash while browsing the internet.
